When the Snow Flies

Aspen Snowmass Comes Alive

Aspen’s four ski areas – Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands, Snowmass and Buttermilk – offer a combined 4,100 acres of every level of terrain and an abundance of winter adventure for everyone. Beyond skiing, your options are almost endless. Your concierge can arrange for a host of outings for the family – dogsled rides, ice skating, sledding and much more. Below you’ll find a few of our favorites.

Ashcroft and Pine Creek Cookhouse
Cross country ski, snowshoe, ride a horse-drawn sleigh or drive, but a visit to Pine Creek Cookhouse is a must for a true Aspen tradition. Located at the base of the dramatic Elk Mountain Range, enjoy lunch, dinner or a glass of wine with a view.

If your dinner plans are in town later in the day, simply visit Ashcroft Ski Touring. Explore perfectly groomed Nordic trails winding through the valley surrounding the Ghost Town of Ashcroft, a turn-of-the-century mining town set amidst breathtaking scenery. Rental equipment, guided tours and lessons are available. The winter season is open through early April.
