Spring is in the Air at Dancing Bear Aspen

Our tenth year in Aspen has been a sweet and snowy one! Since November 1, Aspen has received over 200 inches of snow which has meant more than 50 powder days for happy skiers. The Rocky Mountains have been delivering this season, but the best skiing—spring skiing—is still ahead. Bring on the bluebird powder days mixed with patio après making for those perfect mountain days of your dreams!

Spring is already coming in like a lion with over seven feet of snow falling the first two weeks of March. In addition to the continued snowfall, spring in Aspen means longer and warmer days, with more sunshine and plenty of outdoor events to create glorious, bask-worthy days. Basically, we think it’s the best time to go on a ski vacation, here’s why.

Soak up the sun, and fun

Spring is about renewal, alternate activities, relaxed days, warm weather and exciting town events. Spring is a great time for skiers of all abilities and ages to get out for pleasant conditions and a more relaxed and fun skiing experience both before and after skiing (with plenty of powder stashes still to be found).

The early bird doesn’t only get the best skiing

After the middle of March, there’s no rush to get on the mountain. Spring skiing allows you to enjoy breakfast at your home at Dancing Bear and a leisurely morning before making your way to enjoy skiing on velvet snow warmed by the sun having frozen overnight.

More daylight means more playtime

After our ski valet collects all your gear for the day, there is still plenty of time to enjoy the outdoors. Whether you enjoy the sun-drenched patio at Ajax Tavern, free concerts on the mountain or just retreat to our luxurious rooftop to relish in the sun and views while toasting the day - there are so many ways to unwind.

Aspen Mountain and Snowmass Mountain are open until April 21, and they have just announced two bonus weekends at Aspen Highlands. There’s still plenty of time to seize and ski this season!
