The 32nd annual Food & Wine Classic in Aspen was perfectly timed with idyllic summer weather over the weekend of June 20 - 22, 2014. Dancing Bear Aspen celebrated with three nights of festivities at Aspen's premier Private Residence Club, overlooking Wagner Park.
On Thursday, guests enjoyed A Summer Soirée, featuring a cheese selection curated by James Beard-award winner Laura Werlin, appetizers by 7X Beef, Avalanche Cheese Company and the Caribou Club. Wineries poured their reserves and special selections including John Anthony Vineyards, Wren Hop, Skipstone, Failla Wines, Landmark Vineyards, Justin Wine, Chalk Hill Estate, Armida and Castello di Casole with sparkling and still waters from Voss.
On Friday, The Texas Legends & Wildcatters Party took place in the afternoon sun with Chef Kevin Williamson of Ranch 616, writer Greg Haynes Johnson and event planner Autumn Rich & Co. as the hosts. Special guests included 2014 Food & Wine Best New Chef Matt McCallister, Katherine Clapner of Dude, Sweet Chocolate, Tito's Vodka, Roots Run Deep Winery, Cocktail Whisperer Michael Martensen of Knife Bar in Dallas, Chef Kyle McClelland and "Tipsy Texan" author David Alan.
Saturday night's late night gathering with Casa Dragones showcasing their new Blanco tequila complemented by an oyster bar, appetizers from the Caribou Club and beats by DJ Rawdon. We look forward to the next Food & Wine Classic, set for June 19 - 21, 2015.
